(ABC 6 News) -- An Olmsted County man is in the hospital with significant injuries after he was run over by a vehicle Monday evening, March 18.

Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns said 58-year-old Cynthia Grund and her husband were upset at a 37-year-old man who was staying with them. The 37-year-old allegedly has a "severe alcohol problem." The three got into an argument and Grund and her husband told the man to leave.

The man walked out of the house, and Grund told authorities she called one of the man's friends and arranged for him to stay there. She went out of the house and got in her car and apparently told him to get in and she'd give him a ride.

The man apparently didn't listen and the two began arguing again. Grund told deputies the man then laid down on the driveway and said "why don't you just run me over?".

Grund then allegedly backed up, and then drove forward, running over the man. He suffered significant injuries to his pelvic area and also had a head injury.

Grund went inside to tell her husband. He came out and called 911.

The man was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Marys Campus by ambulance.

Capt. Behrns said Grund told deputies, "he didn't believe I would. He had been drinking all day. We have him a chance."

Grund was arrested and is facing a 2nd-degree assault charge. Capt. Behrns said she could face more charges as the investigation continues.
