District Superintendent Michael Crozier confirmed she works for the district Monday afternoon.

One of our teachers was charged with multiple offenses including drug possession over the weekend.  That employee was immediately placed on administrative leave and substitute teachers were secured to take care of our students while law enforcement and school officials investigate further," said Crozier. "Our hiring and employment processes comply with all state and federal requirements, including conducting background checks of all employees prior to employment.  We ask for your patience and understanding while the investigation occurs.  Rest assured that your children are safe and well-cared for at Northwood-Kensett."

Joya Salzkorn of Hartley, Iowa and Taylor Pohar of Milford, Iowa were also arrested.

The Worth County Sheriff's Office says all three are charged with multiple drug-related offenses.
