(ABC 6 News) - Another option is on the table for Rochester’s Warming Center.
Last week, the City reached an agreement with the Rochester Parks Board to look at the Silver Lake Fire Hall as one potential site. Meantime, the County continued to look at other properties.
On Monday, Dave Dun, the Director of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority, suggested using the strip mall across from the Government Center as the Warming Center.
The City is moving forward with looking at the strip mall as a possible location.
Catholic Charities has agreed to oversee the warming center for the 2019-2020 season.
County officials also brought forward data on homelessness this evening, showing close to 2,000 people experienced homelessness in Olmsted County last year. 151 of those used the Warming Center.
