(ABC 6 News) - Five Minnesotans are among the nine people from three states to have been sickened by an E. coli outbreak linked primarily to Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad Kits.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), along with national health officials, warned consumers to not eat the salad mix. If you bought the kits, you're urged to throw it away.
The affected products have a UPC code of 0 71279 30906 4, beginning with lot code Z, MDH said, and a best-before date up to and including 07DEC19. That information is printed on the front of the bag in the top right corner.
According to MDH, the five Minnesotans affected ranged in age from 21 to 91, and four are Twin Cities metro area residents while one is from greater Minnesota.
