As Severe Weather Awareness Week goes on in Minnesota, Thursday's topic is tornadoes.  A statewide tornado drill will happen twice on Thursday.  Sirens will sound at 1:45 and 6:45 PM signifying the start of the drill.  At these points, it is suggested that you practice your tornado drill at home or at work.  Know where to go in the event of a tornado.  Practice it with your colleagues and family.  If you don't have a severe weather safety plan to practice, adopt one for your home or place of work.

Sirens will sound.  Weather Radios will sound.  This is a full-fledged drill as if the real event was happening.

The weather will be rainy and snowy.  Some communities may opt out of the testing of sirens due to this.  While it may look ominous outside with all the clouds and rain, know there is not a risk for tornadoes on Thursday and the sirens sounding will only be a drill.
