(ABC 6 News) - A team of five young women from Century and Mayo High Schools won $2,500 at Monday night's annual Minnesota Cup business startup competition. The team of juniors finished third in the youth division with an app they developed named DiscoverMe.
The app helps young people deal with mental health issues by having them track their moods and sleep. It offers soothing music and meditation sounds and also points them to local counseling resources.
The Minnesota Cup is the largest statewide startup competition in the country.
A few years ago, a Kasson-Mantorville Middle School team qualified for the global finals then visited the White House.
