Mess of Storms Fueled By Warmth

Mess of Storms Fueled By Warmth

July 16, 2019 05:44 PM

The storm chance for Wednesday looks to be a bit of a muddled mess.  The scenario is not crystal clear and my evolve over the next 12 hours.  Here's how I see it panning out at this point.

An AM band of showers and storms pushes through the region between 9 AM and Noon.  Lightning, thunder and more unnecessary rain but the severe threat is expected to be low.

After a brief break, and chance to heat up, an afternoon cluster of showers and storms arrives between 3 PM and 9 PM.  This activity holds the prospect of severe weather if we get that chance to recharge.  With a lingering frontal boundary in the viscinity and left over wind shifts from morning rainfall, some spin in the low levels will yield a threat for an isolated tornado.  But also, hail and wind will be a threat as well.

Given multiple rounds of rain will be possible, the concern will also be slightly higher for flash flooding, especially with a frontal boundary proving to be rather stagnent in the timeframe.
