VIDEO: Expert Criminologist Expands On What Investigators Are Looking For In Acts of Terror

(ABC 6 News)-- In the wake of the weekend's deadly shootings in Ohio and Texas, lawmakers are hammering out their plans for how they think legislation will stop mass shootings.

As we are in a midst of a crisis, progress on any tougher laws surrounding gun control have been slow on both the national and statewide levels.

An expert criminologist weighs in with what federal investigators are looking at when it comes to these acts of terror.

Dr. Alex Del Carmen is the associate dean and professor in the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies at Tarleton State University.

Dr. Del Carmen expanded on how big of a role mental health and social media play in the last three attacks where the gunmen allegedyly posted their plans on the same website before carrying out their plans.
