(ABC 6 News) - The Mason City Police Department said one person has been arrested and more are expected as they continue to investigate a theft that happened early Monday morning.
Police said a man and woman told officers they were at a convenience store on 12th and North Carolina around 2:00 a.m. when two men got into their car and told them to follow another vehicle.
The victims reported driving to a parking lot a few blocks away and being ordered out of their car. The pair then told officers the suspects took items from the car, a wallet and their phones before driving off.
Police executed a search warrant at a home on the 1400 block of North Hampshire Avenue, along with a vehicle on the property, and found the stolen items.
Twenty-eight-year-old Harold Stinnett Jr., of Clear Lake, was arrested and charged with 1st-Degree Theft and Driving While License Under Suspension.
Police said nobody was hurt during the theft and that the investigation is on-going.
