Man Lodges Car in Snow Bank during Chase

(ABC 6 News) - A 43-year-old Rochester man is in jail after a brief chase with Minnesota State Patrol Wednesday night. 

According to a press release, a trooper saw a vehicle speeding in the intersection of 26th Ave. NW in Rochester around 11:30 p.m.

The release said the trooper pursued the suspect with his emergency lights on, but the driver did not stop, and instead, increased his speed. However, the driver lost control and went into a snowbank along Valley Drive NW. According to the release, the vehicle was stuck in the snowbank and wouldn't move and the suspected driver fled on foot. 

However, authorities said the man did comply with verbal command and was arrested around 11:38 p.m.

The suspect, Mathew Dohrmann, is facing many possible charges including first-degree DWI, fleeing in a motor vehicle and fifth-degree controlled substance.
