(ABC 6 News) -- Mower County Sheriff Office has released the names of the people involved in a fatal tree trimming accident in rural Mower County on Sunday.
- 63-Years Old Earl Klankowski (deceased)
- 77-Years Old Patrick O'Connor (critically injured)
- 38-Years Old Benjamin Klankowski (non-life threatening injuries)
Mower County Sheriff Steve Sandvik says that two victims fell 30 feet from a Lowell Forklift. The platform attached to the forklift tipped over and fell 30 feet to the ground. The incident occurred on private property and the investigation is still ongoing.
(ABC 6 News) -- One person has died and two others were injured after a tree-trimming accident just outside of Austin on Sunday.
The Mower County Sheriff's Office confirms the fatal accident took place around 12:30 p.m. on August 25 on the 58,000 block of 205th St. east of Austin.
Authorities said a group was doing a tree-cutting activity and three people were injured. The Sheriff's office said two of the three people fell about 30-feet and one person was trapped under the equipment.
One of the three people involved, a 63-year-old man, died at the scene. A 38-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin. A 77-year-old was airlifted to a Rochester hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Authorities said they are not releasing the names of the victims until they notify family.
The Mower County Sheriff's Office is expected to release more information Monday.
