(ABC 6 News) - Blooming Prairie resident, Lois Riess, has been indicted in Florida for First Degree Murder with a Firearm, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Grand Theft and Criminal Use of Personal Identification Information of a Deceased Individual, $5,000 or More.
The charges stem from the murder of Pam Hutchinson. Riess is accused of killing Hutchinson after meeting her at a bar in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. Authorities say Riess assumed her identity afterward. At the time of Hutchinson's murder, Riess was wanted in Minnesota in connection with the death of her husband.
The Florida State Attorney's Office says the charge of First Degree Murder with a Firearm presented today supersedes the Second Degree Murder charge filed earlier by the State Attorney’s Office. Riess had pleaded not guilty to the charge of Second Degree Murder.
The Florida State Attorney's Office says Riess will be arraigned on the charges on June 11th.
