(ABC 6 News)-- A closed-door meeting of Leroy-Ostrander school board members on Tuesday night ended with decisions regarding the fate of two staff members of the district.
ABC 6 News reporter Alice Keefe had been following the investigation since it started around November. She joined us in the studio to talk about the decision at the meeting that was not included by Tuesday's 10 p.m. newscast.
The back story of the investigation is that high school principal, Aaron Hungerholt and 5th-grade teacher, Trevor Carrier are also high school football and basketball coaches. Early last month, without warning or explanation, the two were escorted off school property and no one was told why.
On Dec. 18, it was the final school board meeting. Although it came to the conclusion that both coaches would not be returning for the next sports season, it still didn't reveal as to why the two had to be escorted off of school grounds back in November. Another result from the meeting was the school board unanimously agreed that Superintendent Jeff Sampson will not return to Leroy-Ostrande school district.
ABC 6 News has confirmed it is not a criminal matter and will continue to update as the story develops.
