As we've been talking about this week, our weekend storm arrives in two distinct rounds. Round 1 will be Saturday morning/afternoon, as a light mix of freezing rain/snow during the morning, then a mix of rain/snow for the afternoon. Round 2, which brings the worst travel impacts to the area, will bring heavy snow and very strong wind to the area Saturday night into Sunday morning. Snowfall rates of an inch per hour will be likely, possibly higher for some. Wind gusts will range from 45-50 mph, possibly higher in a few locations. We are still in the favorable area for 6" or more, but this track could still shift over the next day or two. Don't worry too much about the snowfall totals, as they will be extremely difficult to measure, thanks to the strong wind blowing/drifting the snow.
