Thanks to landowners in Mower County, 4,000 acres of land will be used for Saturday's hunt, which goes from 9 a.m. to Noon.
Farmer and landowner, Matt Taylor, said it's great to be recognized by the state of Minnesota for not only wildlife but water quality. Taylor is lending 800 acres to Saturday's hunt.
The 4,000 acres of private land will be hunted by Governor Tim Walz and his personal guests, leaving the public land opener for other hunters.
