(ABC 6 News) -- A well-known local politician and former member of the Minnesota House of Representatives has announced her bid for Rochester Mayor.
Kim Norton announced her intentions in a news release sent just after midnight on March 5.
Norton said her vision for the med city would include a strong and sustainable economy and workforce, assuring housing options for all income levels, and creating a civil, transparent and open city for government.
Norton recently completed a Bush Fellowship. She said the nearly two-year course of study helped to expand her understanding of public policy and enhance her leadership skills.
Rochester native Brent Coggins, local musician and businessman Jordan Glynn, and Regina Mustafa, the founder of Community Interfaith Dialogue on Islam, have also announced their bids for Rochester Mayor.
