(ABC 6 News) - The Rochester Public School District has released a bit of new information in regards to the lockdown at John Marshall High School Thursday. It is clarifying that while there was a B.B. gun, it was never "used" and "no one was shot."

RPS says the lockdown at John Marshall High School was lifted at 10:15 Wednesday morning.

It says someone reported that a student brought a B.B. gun to school which prompted a soft lock-down. It says personnel at the school worked with the Rochester Police Department.

Students inside the school during the lockdown said there were unsure what was going on but had heard rumors of a B.B. gun being brought to school as well. The district says students were able to move about the building with an adult during the soft lockdown and classes continued. It says everyone was safe throughout the process.

However, the district declined to provide additional details, citing the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
