(ABC 6 News)-- A little more than a week ago, a local lawmaker told ABC 6 News that there was possibly a problem with the start date to widen Highway 14. It's a dangerous stretch when it narrows to two lanes just west of dodge center, and making accidents common and fatalities, all too real.
Millions in funding to widen that section of highway were approved last year much to the relief of the many folks who drive that corridor often.
However, the wording in the funding plan is in question and when ABC 6's Betsy sat down with Governor Walz last week, she asked him about the glitch that is looking like a much bigger problem.
On the other side of the issue, Rep. Duane Quam says differently of what is happening with Highway 14. Rep. Quam lives in Byron and drives to Owatonna for work weekly.
He worked on the funding for the highway 14 widening, and the issue with "the glitch" in wording came up, he knew exactly it was about.
