(ABC 6 News) -- A Hayfield family is left without a home after a fire destroyed it Friday morning.
Hayfield fire chief, Paul O’Brien says they were called to the home on Center Avenue South shortly before 10 a.m.
A person at the scene says the mother was inside the home when it started but she was able to get out.
Meanwhile her daughter was also at school while her husband was at work.
Firefighters were able to put out the flames in a little more than two hours while the Blooming Prairie Fire Department and Hayfield ambulance stood by.
O’Brien says the fire was possibly caused by heat tape put on pipes to keep them warm during cold temperatures.
The home is considered a complete loss for the family of three.
The Red Cross is now helping them.
