That's right, y'all, we are average! As we move into the end of May, temperatures are starting to become more average across the area with high temperatures climbing into the low 70s. The reason is because the jet stream is pushing low pressure systems farther south as they move into the United States along the West coast. Called digging, these lows push a lot of Gulf of Mexico air northwards as they travel northeast. However, in doing so, these lows also are notorious for bringing the area severe weather due to that unstable air being overhead.
