UPDATE: Names Released in Fatal Crash Near Rochester

June 14, 2018 09:11 AM

(ABC 6 News) -- Olmsted County Sheriff Captain Scott Behrns has released the names involved in a fatal crash near Rochester Wednesday night.

According to Capt. Behrns, 54-year-old Todd Weatherly had helped a neighbor out by mowing their lawn, and was on his way back home around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13. Weatherly was driving a John Deer riding tractor/lawnmower and crossing Marion Road SE when he was hit by a car driven by 24-year-old Samuel Imhoff of Rochester.

Capt. Behrns said it looked like Weatherly was most likely killed on impact. Imhoff told authorities he didn't see Weatherly until it was too late, because it was so dark outside.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

Capt. Behrns said there's still a "long ways to go" in the investigation.
