(ABC 6 News) - The snow can be tricky for driving, but for seniors and people with disabilities, just keeping their driveways and sidewalks clear can be difficult.
That’s why Family Service Rochester’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors program finds volunteers to shovel for people in need in Olmsted County.
April Sutor, director of innovation and collaboration for Family Service Rochester, said keeping driveways and walkways clear is a safety issue not just for the homeowners, but for anyone visiting or using their sidewalks.
“We serve a little over 100 people in Olmsted County every year, clearing their drives and sidewalks, and we need seven, just seven more volunteers to help us this weekend because we’ve got some new people who’ve come in and we need seven more to match,” Sutor said.
