Starting Monday afternoon through the early morning hours on Wednesday, we are going to be dealing with breezy conditions, blowing snow, heavy snow at times along with cold temperatures. Here's a breakdown of the next couple of days should you have to hit the roadways:
Monday: Through the morning hours, travel will be okay. Winds will start to pick up in speed and remain out of the southeast. Temperatures will be cold to start but will gradually warm up into the teens. By the early afternoon, mainly along and northwest of I35, snow will start to fall. Initially there may be some freezing drizzle but temperatures should remain cold enough that ice accumulations will be minimal. Throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the overnight hours, the snow will not only pick up in coverage area but also be heavy at times.
Tuesday: Throughout the day Tuesday our winds will be breezy and we'll be dealing with blowing snow. Some of that snow will be heavy at times, especially the farther southeast you live. Winds will eventually start to turn out of the northwest which means that temperatures will also start to cool as well. Road conditions are expected to be poor throughout the day.
Wednesday: Temperatures will be colder, winds will die down throughout the morning hours and the remaining flurry threat (should there be one) will taper off by the mid morning. Road conditions will be improving.
