We have a couple of ALERT DAYS as we end the week. The first Thursday for the cold air on the way, and the second Friday, for the possibility of heavy snow and strong wind. After the third of four snow chances leaves the area Wednesday afternoon, skies will clear out and temps will really begin to tumble. Thanks to a fresh snow pack, a breeze out of the north, and that clear sky overnight, we are going to start out Thursday extremely cold, near -10 or colder for an air temperature. Wind chills will be even colder, thanks to the breeze out of the north. And then comes the final snow chance for the area this week, but it looks to be the biggest one, and most we've seen in a while. It's too early to talk exactly how much we'll get, and who gets the heaviest, but the long range models continue to show heavy snow & strong wind Friday, lasting into Saturday morning. Travel impacts look likely during this time, but the forecast track for this storm still can change, so be sure to keep it on ABC 6 News on air and online for the latest weather information.
