With a cold burst of air settling over the Midwest for a prolonged stretch of days, the end of the growing season may be near. It's no guarantee though. Temperatures need to drop past the upper 20s to ensure a cold enough night for the hardiest of plants to end things altogether. But the duration of time below freezing doesn't make it any easier for any plants outdoors. The scenario ahead yields three nights where temperatures are near or below freezing... Friday night through Sunday night.
If you'd like to prolong the lives of anything outdoors it would be best to pull them indoors for this stretch.
