We've discussed in recent days how stringing 8 consecutive days of 89° or greater has been a rare feat lately... one not achieved since June of 1995. We'll complete that task on Friday. It's up there with some of the longest stretches reaching that temperature, but far from the top of 16 consecutive days (SAY WHAT?!)
But... a heat wave this hot, this early in the season? That's almost unheard of. Looking in the record books for Rochester. A stretch of 8 consecutive days or more of 89°+ temperatures has only happened this early in the summer season once other time... that being May 28 to June 5th, 1934. Most other similar stretches usually occur in July or August.
