Previous Story:

(ABC 6 News) -- On Sunday afternoon, May 6, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office got three separate reports of shots fired from an airsoft gun in Dover.

According to Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns, the first incident happened at a home on the 100 block of Dover St. The house was hit with 15 yellow airsoft pellets.

The second incident happened when a 13-year-old girl was walking on the 500 block of County Road 142 SE. She told authorities that a silver Cavalier passed her and someone shot an airsoft gun at her three to four times. She was hit in the ribs and in the back of the leg; one of the shots broke her skin.

The third incident involved a 19-year-old who was riding his bike. He says he heard a gun go off and he was hit with an airsoft pellet in the back of the leg. The victim took down the license plate number.

The 13-year-old girl called her dad, who came to pick her up and then drove around to find the car. He found it and took down the license plate number, snapped a few pictures, and contacted authorities.

Sheriff's deputies used that information to track down the car to a home in St. Charles. They went there and took four teenage boys into custody; two 15-year-olds, a 14-year-old and a 13-year-old.

The boys spent the night at the Juvenile Detention Center and were released the next day as the investigation continues.

Capt. Behrns said they have not recovered the airsoft gun yet, and deputies were executing a search warrant at the home where the car was parked Monday morning.

The boys could possibly face assault charges.
