(ABC 6 News)- Football fans are counting down the days to the Super Bowl and so are those who are volunteering to be part of it.
Emily Whitcomb of Rochester is a volunteer on Crew 52.
She is 1 of 10,000 people lending a hand in Minneapolis during the Super Bowl.
Whitcomb will be a part of the Mall of America fan host team. She said she’s happy to be inside
“I’ll be welcoming fans, directing them to places they want to go suggesting activities and just kind of helping them find their way," said Whitcomb.
She is counting down the days to be a part of this once in a lifetime experience.
Oddly enough one of the most exciting things about her role as a volunteer is the new uniforms they get to keep as a souvenir.
Jerry Williams, former Rochester Public School Superintendent will be in his uniform too, as a team captain.
He is tasked with making sure everything runs smoothly with his group of volunteers.
Everything is being done by the Super Bowl host committee to ensure the safety of not only volunteers but the community who wants to experience this "super-terrific event."
Despite not being inside the stadium during the game Williams said as a Vikings fan it’ll be unlike like anything he's ever experienced.
"If the Vikings make it, that would certainly bring on another level of excitement," said Williams.
