(ABC 6 News) - A Charles City woman has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after reportedly injecting a person with insulin without their consent.
According to the Charles City Police Department, officers were called to the 1600 block of Salzer St. where they arrested 44-year-old Jennifer Bean.
Police said initially Bean was charged with domestic assault and interruption of emergency communications but after further investigation, she was also charged with attempted murder.
According to court documents, Bean attempted to commit murder by injecting insulin into the victim without the victim's consent causing the victim to have low blood sugar, which if left untreated could result in coma or possible death if untreated.
Documents state that Bean tried to remove all means of communication so the victim couldn't call for help and that when the victim did call 911 Bean took the phone and hung up.
She's currently being held at the Floyd County Jail on a $26,300 bond.
