(ABC 6 News) - The Charles City Police Department says it has identified the man from this photo.

The department posted a series of photos, with the man, Thursday morning. The pictures show the man at a local cemetery. Police also leaned on the public, asking for help identifying him.

The post included the following, "We are asking for the public's help in identifying the subject in the photos. The van is possibly the one he came to the [cemetary] in. He is removing items from a [gravesite]."

When ABC 6 News contacted the Charles City Police around noon... they informed us the suspect had already been identified, thanks to the Facebook Post.

The department also said, as part of the Facebook post, "The CCPD recovered many items which appear to have been taken from graves. We do know they are from in Charles City and around the county. If you or your family are missing something, please contact Captain Brandon Franke at (641) 228-3366 and describe what you are missing and we will see if we recovered it. We would like to get the items back to the owners.
