(ABC 6 News) - After nearly two years of planning, a public hearing on the draft plan for the Cedar River One Watershed, One Plan, is Tuesday evening.
After the hearing, the policy committee will decide to submit the draft to the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources for final review and approval.
The state is working to create plans based on watershed boundaries rather than political boundaries. These plans allow local governments to work together to create projects with higher return rates, improve water quality, and improve water quantity.
Hearing is Tuesday, Sept 17 at 5 p.m. in the large conference room at the Austin Public Library. Open house starts at 4 p.m.
