(ABC 6 News) -- Malia Schroeder has been selected as the new Byron High School Principal. Schroeder replaces Steve Willman who took an administrative position with Rochester Public Schools.
In a statement released Friday by Byron Schools Superintendent Dr. Joey Page, Mrs. Schroeder has served the Byron Public School District since 2007 as a special education EBD teacher, and currently as the activities director and high school assistant principal. Schroeder has proudly served the education profession for eighteen years and has educational, athletic, and fine arts experiences with children of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
“We used a creative, challenging, and engaging process to identify the next leader of Byron High School. Malia has a strong desire to make a positive impact at Byron High School. She will provide our students, staff, and the community a focus on student achievement, accountability, and strong communication.” Schroeder stated, “I am extremely excited to be joining the Byron High School staff, students, and community as the new High School Principal. I believe that the foundation of BHS is the relationships we foster with our students, and I will be dedicated to carrying on the great tradition of learning at Byron High School," said Dr. Joey Page.
