(ABC 6 News) -- A bike path, to honor the life of a Byron teen, moved another step closer to becoming a reality.
15-year-old Noah Grady died in 2014. For several years Noah's neighbor Isaiah has been working with community members to secure $289,000 in funding for the bike path. Some of that money has been raised through fundraising and the group is hopeful a majority of that money will come in the form of grants from the Minnesota DNR.
As a way to make that "ask" more desirable, Tuesday evening the Byron City Council agreed that the city would cover $75,000 of the project if grant money is approved.
The mile-long path would connect the path on 2nd Ave. NW by Byron High School to the path on 10th Ave. NE by Somerby Golf Club.
