(ABC 6 News) - UPDATE: The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office has issued an all clear on the bomb scare in Eyota.
The St. Paul Bomb Squad has arrived at the scene in Eyota.
Law enforcement has set up a large perimeter around the area of the 200 block of Carolann Street in Eyota, nobody will be let into the area and anyone inside the perimeter is asked to either stay inside or go to the high school.
The St. Paul Police Department Bomb Squad has been activated and is responding to a scene in Eyota.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, around 11:43 a.m. they received a call from Homeland Security stating a person, identified as 39-year-old Joshua Smith, had information that 'someone' that had explosives in a vehicle.
Homeland Security told the sheriff's office Smith was in the 200 block of Carolann Street in Eyota.
The sheriff's office said they were aware that Smith has "strong anti-government sentiments" and that he had an active warrant out of Dakota County for a felony narcotics violation.
Deputies responding to the incident found Smith near his vehicle and took him into custody without incident.
During an explosives sweep of his vehicle, a K9 did alert officials to the scent of explosives in or near the vehicle.
The sheriff's office is asking the public to stay away from this unknown and active scene.
