(ABC 6 News) -- An Austin woman was arrested after the sheriff's office says she was overpaid more than $30,000 in welfare benefits dating back several years.

Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said the woman, Natasha Woods, claimed not to be living with the father of at least one of her children since January 2010. An investigation beginning in November found Woods was living with the man and failed to report his income to the Department of Human Services.

Woods was charged by the complaint of wrongfully obtaining assistance, a felony, in the amount of $30,139.83, Amazi said.
