Austin Man Pleads Not Guilty to 19 Child Pornography Charges

(ABC 6 News) - An Austin man, with a history of sexual contact with minors, pled not guilty to 19 felony counts of dessemination of child pornography by a registered predatory offender on Monday.

Conditional bail was set at $100,000 and a jury trial was scheduled to begin on February 25.

A 24-year-old man with a history of sexual contact with minors is now facing nearly 20 felony charges relating to child pornography.

According to court documents, an Austin police officer conducting a drug test for Evan Hill on July 4 found a cell phone containing dozens of images and videos depicting child pornography. Hill, who claimed the images and video were on the phone prior to him going to prison previously, was arrested on a parole violation. 

He later told a detective the photos were in a secret folder on the phone and that he got them from "someone" on Kik messenger, according to a criminal complaint. In total, the detective found 83 images and nine videos depicting child pornography or nudity.

Hill, who prior to his arrest was considered a level three predatory offender and had moved to a home in the 700 block of 8th Street NW in Austin in April, is charged with 10 counts of felony possession of pornographic work by a registered predatory offender and nine counts of felony dissemination of pornographic work by a registered predatory offender.
