(ABC 6 News) - Police are asking for the public’s help in locating an Austin man who is still missing, a day after he was first reported missing from his home.
Around 8:15 Monday morning police got a call from the wife of 72-year-old Dennis Hanson. She said she’d left their home in the 2100 block of 3rd Avenue Southeast around 6:45 in the morning, and when she returned home 90 minutes later her husband was gone.
She believed her husband was wearing a teal-colored jacket with a gray liner, a gray shirt, red baggy sweatpants, glasses and boots. She also said he would be on foot.
Around 7:45 Monday evening police got a call from a citizen who reported that she might have seen Dennis Hanson earlier in the day near County Road 4 and 540th Avenue south of Austin. Police say a bloodhound was brought to that location and picked up a scent, but lost it.
The state patrol was called to the scene to do aerial heat imaging, but found nothing.
Investigators say Dennis Hanson suffers from no known medical conditions.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Austin police department.
