(ABC 6 News) - The Austin Police Department said a man has been taken to the hospital after he was assaulted during the burglary of his home.
A 17-year-old girl called the police around 10:30 p.m. Saturday stating that an unknown man was in her home.
The man had entered through an unlocked door of the home in the 2000 block of 2nd Ave SE.
The girl says her 41-year-old father confronted the man and was punched several times in the face, causing him to lose consciousness. The intruder then fled from the scene.
The father was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The intruder was described as a chubby or bulky white male. The victims say he wore blue jeans, a black jacket, a black scarf or mask, and black gloves during the burglary.
Nothing was taken from the home.
The police are asking for the public’s help in identifying this man. Any information would be helpful to better understand the situation.
