(ABC 6 News) - The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's help in investigating an armed robbery that happened Sunday night.
Police said officers were called to a convenience store on the 1200 block of Oakland Pl. SE just before 10 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses told officers that two men entered the store and that one was carrying a small black handgun.
According to police, the suspects took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Witnesses described the suspect that was allegedly carrying the gun as a lighter-skinned black male possibly in his teens, thin build, about 5'6" and had a bandana covering his face.
The second suspect was also described to police as a lighter-skinned black male possibly in his teens with a thin build, around 5'8" wearing glasses and a bandana covering his face.
According to police, the two suspects took off on foot headed north last night.
They're asking businesses and homeowners with surveillance systems to please check your footage.
