(ABC 6 News) - An Austin man is possibly facing charges after allegedly attempting to steal meat from a garage freezer and threatening the homeowner with a knife when confronted.

According to the Austin Police Department, around 10:15 Saturday night they were called to a home on the 1200 block of 5th Ave. NW.

The homeowner told police he returned home to find a light on in his garage.

When he went to investigate he found 32-year-old Brandon Ingersoll stuffing items into a backpack near a freezer and several packages of frozen meat were on the ground.

The homeowner told police when he attempted to confront Ingersoll, Ingersoll grabbed a knife and started to walk toward him.

The homeowner left the garage and called police.

When an officer arrived Ingersoll was still in the garage and was taken into custody at Taser-point.

Ingersoll could face charges of 2nd-degree assault and 3rd-degree burglary.
