(ABC 6 News) - For kids in need across our area... the holidays can be a time of uncertainty. But an annual program is underway to make sure everyone has a little something under the tree this year.
The Salvation Army in Mason City has partnered with a number of groups again this year including Cent Credit Union, to put up Angel Trees. Each tree has information about holiday wish lists for area kids. You can pick an angel... buy the item... and bring it back to the drop off location by December 17th.
For Salvation Army Captain Kenyon Sivels... it's a program with an extra special meaning.
"My brother and I were in foster care when we were younger," said Captain Sivels. "And when we got out of foster care when my mother regained custody of us, our first Christmas was sponsored by the Salvation Army."
In total... 10 Angel Trees are set up across north Iowa.
