Clusters of showers and storms will be possible for most of Saturday. I'm really keying in on the pre-dawn hours to mid-morning for a first 'wave' and after a general lull in the action through mid-day a late afternoon and evening round. It's the second that holds the best potential for a strong/severe storm. The setup isn't the most ideal for it. A couple spokes of energy will favor better severe development well to our north and further to our south across Iowa. Given our localized setup, I'm not expecting widespread severe weather on the day and it will be isolated. Should we see a strong storm, north Iowa will be more in favor in my opinion.
Severe threats will be more for hail/wind vs tornadoes. The wind on the day will already be gusty. Storms may easily accentuate it.
Rain totals will be streaky once again. Some places will reach over 1", but that will not be the norm. Flooding potential is a bit higher in these areas due to recent soaking rains, however, storms will remain rather progressive.
