Friday is the final ALERT DAY for the area, due to the dangerously cold air lingering in the morning. Morning lows on Friday will be near -20°, with wind chills in the -20° to -30° range early. Wind chills this cold, means frostbite can occur in 20 to 30 minutes on any exposed skin. Please be safe, dress in layers, cover the exposed skin on your hands, face, and head, and limit your time outside as best as you can! We took the plunge below-zero officially at 2 AM Thursday, meaning by 2 AM Friday, it will be the first 24 hour sub-zero stretch since March 3 of last year!
