Friday is the final ALERT DAY for the area, due to the dangerously cold air lingering in the morning. Morning lows on Friday will be near -20°, with wind chills in the -25° to -35° range early. Wind chills this cold, means frostbite can occur in 20 to 30 minutes on any exposed skin. Please be safe, dress in layers, cover the exposed skin on your hands, face, and head, and limit your time outside as best as you can! Be careful on the roads as well, especially later in the afternoon and evening, as the southerly wind will increase, blowing the snow around. This may cause low visibility and a few slick spots around the area, especially in the open stretches of roads, when you get away from buildings or trees sheltering the road from the blowing snow.
