A Look Back at a Mother's Mission

(ABC 6 News)-- A Rochester woman was recently identified as Sharon Schlingmann as the driver who was killed Monday afternoon. Schlingmann played a large role in the fight against opioid when she lost her daughter to heroin.

She appeared on ABC 6 News in 2017 to talk about her mission and how it has encouraged her to educate parents and families of the dangers of addiction.

As we learn more about Monday's accident, we take a look back at Schlingmann's message and journey after losing her 23-year-old daughter.

ABC 6 News will also be following the status of the other driver involved in the accident, 76-year-old Robert Martin, who law enforcement said was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital, Saint Marys Campus.
