Each of the first 10 days of October had rainfall. An impressive streak of soggy conditions. Normally, October is the start of a drier season for Minnesota and Iowa, but not in 2018!
In the average October, nearly 2 1/4" is typical in any given year. But for the first 10 days of October 2018, we're nearly to 3", already exceeding the monthly quota.
Dating back to August, a soggy 5-7" above normal rainfall has been observed. It's been the culprit for minor flooding at times and overall soggy conditions for the last two and a half months.
