Normally for the end of August, you'd expect different conditions... hence how the phrase "the dog days of Summer" came to be. However, the jet stream has decided to transition more into northwesterly flow... a fancy way of saying we, the ABC 6 forecast area, are in the perfect placement to receive cooler air as systems move through (there's more but we can go into that if you want at another time).
A system to our north is going to be spinning its way east as we move into the final days of August. Following the passing of this low and its cold front, we are going to be watching a high pressure system move overhead which means that cooler and drier air will be moving in. This cooler and drier airmass is expected to begin to move in Monday night/Tuesday morning and stick around through the early start of September. Dew points will 40s and 50s before briefly climbing back into the 60s on Thursday which is when we could see a chance for showers and storms.
