(ABC 6 News) - According to Rochester Police, an 82-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon. 

The crash happened at the intersection of 55th Street northwest and Bandel Road in Rochester around 4:15 p.m.

Marcelle Goodman, 56, from Oronoco, was driving a GMC Envoy, heading westbound on 55th Street northwest, and traveling through the intersection on a green light. At the same time, Alan Strand, 67, from Welch, was driving a Buick Lucerne. He was turning northbound onto Bandel Road from Eastbound 55th Street on a flashing yellow arrow. 

Officers said the Buick did not yield to the GMC's right of way, and the two collided. 

The front seat passenger of the GMC, 82-Year-Old Avis Skjeie from Rochester was transported to Saint Marys Mayo Clinic Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, authorities said. 

The two other passengers in the back seat received minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital. Goodman, the driver, was not injured. 

A 64-year-old woman riding in the Buick was transported to Saint Marys with minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
