We are still looking at two rounds of storms on the 4th of July. The first will be early in the morning through late in the afternoon. This first wave will feature heavy rainfall and these storms will be elevated. The severe threat with this first wave is fairly low (high winds or large hail, if anything at all). The second wave arrives later around when most would normally launch fireworks, and could potentially continue into very early Tuesday morning too. The severe threat for these storms will depend on how much clearing we get prior to these storms developing. We will have plenty of moisture for storms to form. If it becomes more likely for strong or severe storms to occur, then an Alert Day could be added. However, it is dependent on how much our atmosphere is recharged after the first wave in the morning.
