(ABC 6 News) -- Two men from Dover are recovering following an assault at a bar.
It happened around 10:10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 9, at the Roadtrip Bar located at 217 Main Street North in Dover.
According to the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, surveillance video from the bar showed 31-year-old Joseph Patrick Martin of Dover sitting at the far end of the bar and a group of people at the other end of the bar.
Witnesses told deputies Martin and 3 to 4 in the group had some verbal exchanges before Martin got up and approached the group.
Deputies said surveillance video footage showed Martin punching a 35-year-old man in the face, causing the man to fall and hit his head on steps which also caused him to lose consciousness.
The video then showed Martin hitting a 46-year-old man several times before that man fell to the ground and landed on top of the other victim. Deputies said Martin could then be seen putting the man into a chokehold and biting his left ear.
The fight was eventually broken up and deputies said Martin left the bar.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they said the 35-year-old victim was sitting on a barstool and was covered in blood. Deputies said the 46-year-old victim was on the floor and two people were applying pressure to a wound on his head.
Deputies were able to get a vehicle description and a short time later the Minnesota State Patrol had received a report of a vehicle crash on Highway 52 South at the Interstate 90 intersection.
Witnesses saw a shirtless man leaving the scene, who authorities said matched the description of Martin.
The Minnesota State Patrol was able to locate Martin on Interstate 90 and Olmsted County Sheriff's deputies then arrived on the scene.
Deputies said Martin was confrontational, resisted arrest, and was tased.
He was taken to the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center and is facing charges of third-degree felony assault, gross-misdemeanor obstructing, fifth-degree assault, and disorderly conduct.
The sheriff's office said the 35-year-old victim had multiple facial fractures and may undergo surgery. They said the 46-year-old victim is planning to be get checked out by a doctor, soon.
